Why respray

Respray don’t replace

Before A kitchen before respraying, with dated units and a checkerboard floor
After The same kitchen after respraying in Farrow and Ball Cardroom Green, with the handles and knobs replaced

No need to throw out a perfectly good kitchen. Most kitchens that look tired are still sound underneath. The doors are solid, the carcass is square, and what they need is proper preparation, a durable finish and a colour that suits the room. A respray gives you that for a fraction of the cost of ripping it out.

You are not living on a building site either. The doors come off to the booth, the frames are finished in your home, and you keep your kitchen the whole way through.

Questions

The things everyone asks

How much does a kitchen respray cost?

It depends on the size of the kitchen and the state of the existing finish, so every job is priced properly rather than off a rate card. Send a few photos and rough sizes on WhatsApp and you will get a straight quote. Whatever the number is, it is a fraction of what a new kitchen costs.

How long will I be without my kitchen?

The doors and drawer fronts go off to the booth while the frames are finished in your home, so the kitchen keeps working for most of the job.

Can you spray vinyl wrap, pine or oak?

All of them. Failing vinyl wrap gets stripped right off before anything else happens, and pine, oak, walnut and previously painted kitchens are all bread and butter. Some need more preparation than others, and the quote will say so honestly.

What colours can I choose?

Any named colour from ranges like Farrow & Ball, Colourtrend, Tikkurila and Dulux Heritage, matched in a durable coating and sprayed in the sheen that suits the room.

Will the finish last?

The paint going on is an industrial coating made for kitchens, tougher than anything off the shelf, and the preparation underneath it is most of the work. That combination is why the finish holds up to family life.

About

About David

David Hayes is a kitchen respray specialist based in Dunmanway, and he has been painting and decorating around West Cork for over fifteen years. He built his own insulated, heated workshop and spray booth at home over the course of a year, so doors and drawer fronts get sprayed properly indoors whatever the weather is doing, and the frames are finished in your home with dust-free sanding.

He works with industrial coatings that are tougher than off-the-shelf paint, and he is trusted by interior designers and builders around Cork to get the finish and the colour right.
